With a brief statement on Wednesday Formula One Administration announced that a new contract with Monaco has been agreed after a meeting in London with Michel Boeri, the Monaco club's president. The deal is said to be for ten years.

Luca di Montezemolo could be set to leave Ferrari according to French broadcaster TF1 and replaced by 34-year-old Andrea Agnelli, part of the famous Agnelli family and currently president of the Juventus football club.

Germany's free to air television broadcaster has denied it is disappointed its audience figures this year with the return of Michael Schumacher. "On average we are 1.13 million higher than last year's average,” spokesman Matthias Bolhofer told Der Spiegel. “That we would not be able to keep up the hype of the opening race was obvious."

The German Grand Prix will revert as scheduled to the Nurburgring next year following claims that Bernie Ecclestone wanted an annual event at Hockenheim. "The fact that the race will take place is beyond question," a circuit spokesman told SID.
